I love your west texas landscapes with the cotton gins and grain elevators. Reminds me of where I grew up! Where can I find these pieces? I would love one on my office wall! I also appreciate your narratives & pencil work!

I'd love to come out to your place and participate in the harvest! I'm pretty handy with ladders. I usually buy my olive oil from a couple in Ferrandina, but it gets more and more expensive each year. Not wanting to contradict you, but while I was living in Perugia in 1985, we had the worst winter on record, the frost was so severe, it killed olive trees that were over 100 years old. Quite unusual, though.

Hi Cinzia, how have you been? Its good to hear from you again. I am still here but I have been spending more time in the States, for the sake of my nonagenarian parents and my boys, who are both in school there now. As I age I admit I am feeling the stronger pull of family and my original traditions. Yes, it was a circus here for the big Coppola wedding, but the only contact I had was to translate for him a couple of years ago while he was planning his garden design. He seemed a little bored in general, especially with wine-making!
Please check out the original blog address, which is mydoublelifeinitaly.wordpress.com I am in the process of combining the two addresses into one art/blog site, so sometimes there are more and newer posts on the wordpress site, and less art. Everything is so complicated, isn't it?!

Sandra what a great story about making Halloween memories for your boys. I really enjoyed it and there's really so little writing I enjoy these days (I've become a gran criticona in my old age!). You're not only a wonderful painter but also an excellent writer! Of course, I could relate, being an American child, living in Naples in the '60s. I was cleaning up my website, getting rid of links that are no longer valid, and lo and behold I came across your new web pages (I've had a link to your pages since I met you in 2002). Which, a proposito, I haven't seen you since maybe 2005 (??). Now, I am going to read more of your blog - but I was wondering are you still in Bernalda or are you spending more time in the States? By the way, did you sell any of your work to the new hotel (Francis Ford's). When I heard of the hotel, I thought of you. :-)

Yes, she’s so flirty with the celery! I hadn’t noticed the cucumber on the table, but now I see!! Tee hee. Amazing picture on so many levels.

Thanks, Jann. I love it when someone “gets” my work. I love visual puns and such, but they can be subtle. Note the composition on the table and the symbolism of that celery! Ha.

Absolutely delightful paintings!!! I am so in love with them. That wallpaper!!! That little apple on the shelf! The celery! So glad to be in possession of this recipe, which reminds me how delicious & healthy greens can be. Mille grazie.
